Myth vs. Fact: KXL Pipe not Made in America

MYTH: The pipe being used for KXL will not be made in America.

FACT: Seventy-five percent of the pipe used to build the Keystone XL will come from North American mills – half of which will be made by U.S. workers in Arkansas. Goods for the pipeline valued at approximately $800 million have already been sourced from U.S. manufacturers.[1] The remaining pipe will be procured from overseas sources largely because North American mills do not have the capacity to meet current demand for high grade pipe.
